About Us – A New Day Auctions

How do you combine a love of buying, selling, and entertaining? Well Auctioneering of course!

We have a long history together starting when we met in high school. We got married much later, after college, in 1995 and have 2 boys. During all that time the collections grew and grew. Joshua was known as the person who wouldn’t let you throw anything away and truly believes that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure! When we had to have 2 semi-trailers move us we realized we had a LOT of stuff. So after years of collecting toys, antiques and oddities we finally decided to start selling at antique stores and online with our Ebay. If we had realized it’s as much fun to sell as it is to collect we’d have started years ago. Then we were at a charity auction for Northern Voices and our friend Judd Grafe from Grafe Auctions was doing the auction and told Joshua that with his personality and DJ experience he would be a great auctioneer. The seed was planted… within months we were in Mankato, MN in class at Continental Auctioneer School. One week after graduation we performed our first live auction for Table Tennis Minnesota at their annual banquet and A New Day Auctions LLC was officially in business in May of 2009! We leased a building in Lakeville that summer and started to do consignment auctions and estate sales. We eventually settled on Thursday nights and have being doing weekly auctions ever since, throwing in a few others along the way. We moved the business to our current location in Cannon Falls in July of 2011 and have continued to grow adding additional space, employees, and live bidding online to reach a worldwide market. We followed the business and moved to Cannon Falls in 2012 and our 2 boys attended Cannon Falls High School.

Joshua has a radio broadcasting degree and has owned his own DJ company for more than 15 years. He has also worked for more than 15 years as a manager and quality assurance specialist in the computer industry traveling around the world. He loves being a dad, has an addiction to garage sales, flea markets and antique shows and loves to play table tennis. He is licensed, bonded, and insured in Minnesota (#19-160) as a Certified Auctioneer, Certified Real Estate Auctioneer, and Certified Charity Auctioneer.

Kendra attended Indiana University and has many years of retail, sales, and marketing experience as well as being a former realtor. Kendra helped start the Minnesota chapter of the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the deaf and hard of hearing and is also on the board of directors for the E.J. Bird Foundation. Any spare time is spent with the kids, and tagging along with Joshua on his treasure hunts. She is licensed, bonded, and insured in Minnesota (#19-159) as a Certified Auctioneer, Certified Real Estate Auctioneer, and Certified Charity Auctioneer.
